Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an "effective" and evidenced based treatment or therapy that focuses on improving specific behaviors such as social skils, communication, academics, hygiene, job competence and more while working to decrease problem behaviors.
The technical definition: ABA is a scientific approach for discovering environmental variables that reliably influence socially significant behavior and for developing a technology of behavior change that is applicable and practical.
ABA is based in cause and effect.
